I came to painting only after the age of 50.
Growing up, there was always a small studio in our home, shared by my father, my brothers, and me. Over the years, my studies and professional practice as an architect brought additional influences into my work.
I work primarily in acrylic on canvas or wood panel, sometimes incorporating collage or black-and-white photographs.
Some paintings begin with an idea and a plan, others take shape through the process itself.
I invite viewers to explore the layers and elements in my work, both visible and hidden. Each person may discover something different - an association, a memory, a place, a question, or perhaps a smile.
